Last month, the President of the French Football Association (FFF) announced that 23 members of Les Bleus have agreed to not receive a bonus which should be obtained in the 2010 World Cup. This is intended to maintain the image of the team after the embarrassing events in South Africa.
"Most of them have signed. It is in the process," said Michel Duchaussoy, the new Chairman of the FFF.
However, a source from the FFF, told Soccernews, says Nicolas Anelka and Thierry Henry are two of the last of the Roosters squad who did not agree to lose the bonus. Anelka himself is currently serving a ban on defending the national team after an early discharge when the world cup.
"We have not discussed it specifically. We are hoping to Henry. I would be very amazed if Anelka want to release the bonus,"the source said.
Domenech himself was sacked after France failed to qualify for the first round. Uniquely, Duchaussoy mentioned that the dismissal does not include an agreement to give up bonuses. "He has not received his bonus, but we also can not take it," said Duchaussoy
